Another fabulous year for Austraflora!
Over 2017 we saw our Facebook page followed by 38,000 people. As always, we have loved interacting will you all, and we’re delighted to hear that so many of you are interested in what we have to say. Your enthusiasm and involvement has been terrific!
Our annual Photography Competition launched for the sixth time, and we received 2,000 photos of Australian flora, nature and landscapes. Photographers of all skill levels entered; it was a great mix of professional and amateur. Both Canon and Fiskars contributed prizes, and Austraflora provided flights, accommodation and tickets to the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show for the first place winner, David Ashley. The 12 winning photos were featured in our 2018 Austraflora Calendar. Well done to our shortlisters, finalists, and winners! It was a tough one this year.
During December (it still counts, right?) we launched the Austraflora Photography Club! We’re still finding our feet, but in the first week of opening it already had 180 members. It’s a Facebook Group, that has content perpetuated by members with the odd contribution by the Austraflora Team. We hope that in 2018 it’ll continue to be a hive of activity, and become a place where you guys share and enjoy each other’s work.
The Austraflora website continued to be a popular source of information for growers, retailers, landscapers and home gardeners. Our articles page “Dishing The Dirt” reached over 100 blog posts this year!
Lots of lovely new plants have been added to our range, and there’s more to come!
A HUGE thank you to our friends at Fiskars, Searles, Northcote Pottery and Canon for your very generous prize donations this year. We can promise lots more competitions in the New Year!
We hope you have a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Wonderful New Year!
Best wishes from The Austraflora Team
