Sollya Edna Walling Blue Bells
Sollya heterophylla x parviflora sterile form
All gardens benefit from climbing plants to provide screening. Sollya Edna Walling Blue Bells fills other roles as a light climber. Here’s an idea ~ if you need to screen a view along a narrow pathway between house and fence, construct two staggered screens at about 2 metres distance apart, one at 90° to the fence and another at the same angle from the building. Plant these with Sollya Edna Walling Blue Bells and you’ll have a very manageable living screen without the overpowering effect that more vigorous climbers give. Veranda posts are softened with the delicate twining of Sollya Edna Walling Blue Bells foliage, dotted with dainty purple-blue flowers in summer & autumn. Butterflies love them. Suitable for cool temperate to sub tropical climates in moist well drained clay or sandy loam of a neutral to low acid pH. Tolerates light frosts and near-coastal conditions. A very light trim is all that is needed, just now and again.
