Callistemon Captain Cook

Captain Cook

Callistemon viminalis ‘Captain Cook’

Densely foliaged, small, rounded shrub that bears clusters of red, bottlebrush flowers at the ends of the branches. Flowers appear mainly in spring with some spot flowering in autumn. Flowers attract nectar feeding birds. Ideal in shrubberies and in mixed plantings. Suitable for large tubs. Prefers a sunny, open position in moist, well drained soil. Prune after flowering to promote strong new growth. Provide additional water during very dry periods.
